My first trip to Memphis was in October and I was stunned by the music everywhere. Everywhere. So when I went back to work on this new project I knew I could not neglect Stax Records and Sun Studio. Both these places were the birthplaces of firsts — the birth of soul at Stax and the birth of rock n’ roll at Sun. Gospel, blues, funk and jazz were all recorded in these studios, as well. Isaac Hayes, Johnny Cash, Rufus Thomas, Elvis Presley, Otis Redding, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and dozens of other talented musicians recorded in these two historic studios.

I am beyond jealous. These two places in particular are on my must visit list. Nice photos.
